The Peter Tchaikovsky Mug was originally designed as part of the Pantheon of Composers collection, which featured artwork by Rich DiSilvio of great composers in memorials. The collection appeared on collector plates and mugs, among other items, and retailed at Lincoln Center and many Performing Arts centers throughout America and Europe.

However, DiSilvio redesigned the mug to offer a full wraparound piece of artwork that also features ballet dancers by Degas, thus forming a beautiful representation of Tchaikovsky's work. DiSilvio's memorial includes structural elements of the Bolshoi Theater and St. Basil's cathedral, as well as symbols pertaining to Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin and the ballets Swan Lake and the Nutcracker.
